Ecology
All production facilities of the company are environmentally-friendly.
The company has built a modern electrical substation and power lines without negative impact for wildlife. Administrative and residential buildings are electrically heated. The railways and the station make it possible to transport products only by rail and minimize the man-caused impact on the air during the export of coal. Modern mining equipment has reduced fuel consumption and minimal emissions into the atmosphere.
Investments in environmental facilities and initiatives has reached $8 million.
Pit water treatment facilities
The main part of the funds was invested in the construction of pit water treatment facilities. The advanced technologies were used in the design and construction of treatment facilities, taking to account the experience of the world's largest companies specializing in water treatment. The cleaning process includes several stages: mechanical, physical and chemical, microbiological. German and Swiss certified equipment is used, and purified water meets the most modern environmental standards.
Electrical substation
The substation of the Mairykhsky open pit mine is second to none in the coal mining enterprises of the republic.
A microprocessor protection system is installed at the substation, which makes it possible to increase the reliability of the power supply system and promptly detect malfunctions. Thanks to the telecommunications system with remote control, the network management center monitors the real time operation of the substation.
The substation uses vacuum circuit breakers that do not contain environmentally harmful transformer oil and SF6. Power lines are built taking to account modern environmental requirements for protection against the death of birds: the lines are made with a self-supporting insulated wire and are structurally designed in such a way that the birds cannot physically touch the grounding device and the conductive wire.

Today the Mairykhsky open pit employs 1,100 people. All employees are residents of the Republic of Khakassia, and their salary is higher than the regional average.
Safe and comfortable working conditions have been created for employees. Modern residential buildings are equipped with air conditioning and heating systems. There are showers, spacious locker rooms, dining rooms, and a medical center.

The company provides employees with free meals, corporate shuttle service, coal allowance, health resort packages for children. The number of benefits and perks is expanded annually, the level of remuneration increases.
The Mairykhsky open pit also provides neighborhood improvement.
In the settlements of the Altai district of the Republic of Khakassia, where coal mining is carried out and about 30% of the company's employees live, the Mairykhsky open pit has implemented the social facilities maintenance and repair programs. The company co-financed federal programs for the construction of educational and sports facilities. A new kindergarten has been built and put into operation, and a new football pitch is being built at the main stadium of the district center. Since 2017, the Mairykhsky open pit has been providing free coal for heating kindergartens and schools. The company provides financial support for educational, cultural and sports events, as well as organizes cleanup, landscaping and greening events for the local community.
The Mairykhsky open pit mine is a major taxpayer for the Republic of Khakassia. Regular payments to the state budget are a guarantee of stability and development prospects for the region.
Under the current agreement with the Government of the Republic of Khakassia, the company allocates funds to finance social and economic programs in the districts and cities of the republic.
